MOI Weekly News Bulletin platforms allow Government to reach a wider range of the populace mostly the stakeholders who are more receptive on Ministry of Information Culture & Tourism. These weekly Bulletin platforms are easier to track and monitor with a variety of analytical tools and thereby target messaging appropriately.
NATIONAL NEWSPAPER PROGRAMME
The National Newspaper programme is one of the largest newspapers in Somalia and was established in 1st July 1960. The Dalka Newspaper is a state owned newspaper which works under guidelines & control of the Ministry of Information Culture and Tourism The Dalka Newspaper is one of the most important reading materials in the life of a literate people.
Open Government Initiative (OGI)
Open Government Initiative (OGI) program was established in May 2015 to create and promote openness in government. Accountability, transparency and the fight against corruption have been high on the policy agenda in Somalia. OGI has at its aim at addressing this through granting unprecedented levels of transparency in government operations in both scope and reach; generating the conditions for deep accountability and enhanced citizen engagement and participation to take root, increasing governmental transparency, and propelling economic development.
OPEN THEATER OF MOI
The Open Theater of (MOI) program is designed to create opportunity for all top government officials including the president, Prime minister, Ministers and Parliament members to share with the public and stakeholders on the development within the sector. This platform is an opportunity of building a two –way communication channel between the puplic and government. It is also a platform to conduct debates, interviews, shows & event to provide the latest information on the future developments in the sector and to strengthen the national awareness.
NATIONAL STRATEGY FOR PUBLIC AWARENESS (NSPA)
The Ministry of Information Culture and Tourism for the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and its Federal Member States (FMS) counterparts which has the mandate for Public Awareness Campaigns of the Federal Government of Somalia has taken the responsibility to lead the establishment of a National Strategy for Public Awareness (NSPA) aimed at the Somali Citizens which has experienced several decades of civil wars, divisions, extremism and lack of fully-functioning government to recover from decades of hardships through reconciliation and living in cohesion, trusting the system of governance.
PREVENTION AND COUNTERING OF VIOLENT EXTREMISM PROGRAM
The Ministry of Information Culture & Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia has taken initial steps to implement its National Strategy and Action Plan on Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism. However, as a part of implementing the adopted PCVE Strategy in Somalia, the program will assist Somalia to operationalize its coordination mechanism at the national and FMS levels. The program will provide operational support for the PVCE coordination mechanisms, in addition to training and technical assistance. The program will promote linkages between Somali and regional PVCE initiatives, in partnership with other actors.
